The Oakwood Cafe has been a restaurant in Dalton for over 80 years, started by a Mr. Oak and a Mr. Wood. It moved to its current location of 201 West Cuyler St. in mid-1940's when it was run by Johnny and Mary Metcalf. During the next 60 years, The Oakwood Cafe established itself as a community landmark serving three meals a day from cooked to order breakfast to meats and fresh vegetables. In 2001, it was closed down and remained that way until 2004 when we reopened it. Since then, our goal was to establish a community restaurant that serves a great meal at an affordable price with a smile. Our wireless "at the table" ordering system gives the ability to serve large and small parties in minutes, insuring a quick return to work or home. Our catering events include weddings, doctor offices, manufacturing plants and birthday parties.
Our fundraising events include but are not limited to The Friendship House, The Boys and Girls Club, FCA, Family Support Council, Numerous Dalton City and Whitfield County Schools, Dalton Arts Project, Christian Heritage School, Rockbridge Community Church and many other Christian organizations. Our goal is to donate 3% of our sales yearly to local charities.
